An Interfaith Symposium is a medium to large scale conference which is held at an auditorium or lecture hall. The purpose of this event is to promote peaceful interfaith dialogue for mutual understanding. On this event, representatives from various religions provide insight on a given topic. A moderator is used to ensure that each representative is given equal time to provide his/her viewpoint. Questions are taken from the audience towards the end. The event is usually 2-3 hours long and features refreshments at the end which provide further opportunity to mingle with speakers and ask questions. These events are excellent at providing viewpoint on one particular topic from several different religions in one sitting. Such events are organized in order to clear misconceptions and enhance one’s understanding about the teachings of different religions.
